About Us
Frederick Wilson Benteen Elementary School, opened in 1922, has been serving the southeast Atlanta community for more than 100 years! We pride ourselves on empowering students with the confidence, social skills and intellectual capacity required to successfully thrive and compete in the global marketplace.
Since the Fall of 2018, we have been offering the Dual Language Immersion Program, a program where students learn in two languages. Benteen also offers a quality traditional education program for families who opt out of the Dual Language Immersion Program. Additionally, as of May 2021, we are thrilled to be an authorized IB World School offering the PYP Curriculum. In October of 2023, Benteen was recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as a Title I Reward Schools, among the greatest improving 5% of Title I Schoolwide.
Our children represent our hopes and dreams for the future, and they deserve the best education we can give them. We believe every student has the potential to succeed, and we are dedicated to making a difference in children's lives by encouraging them to open their minds to learning, discovery and achievement.
